providing Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC),
including Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) assessment and
remediation services.
USA has performed every type of UXO-related project,
including Archives Search Reports
(ASR) and Inventory Project Report (INPR) Reviews,
Preliminary Assessments and Site Investigations (PA/SI),
Remedial Investigations/Feasibility (RI/FS) Studies,
Programmatic and Technology Studies, Reconnaissance and
Surveys, Engineering
Evaluation/Cost Analysis (EE/CA), Time Critical
Removal Actions (TCRA), UXO Avoidance, UXO Clearance,
Disposals, and Chemical Warfare Materiel (CWM)

incorporation in 1998, USA has safely and successfully
completed over $400M of MEC work. USA has contracted for
over 465 MEC/UXO projects/task orders. USA
has performed work in most States, Canada, Iraq, Japan,
South Korea, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. USA
typically handles 30 to 40 ongoing projects simultaneously,
which include activities ranging from initial Work Plan
preparation to field operations to preparing final reports.
USA
has in place both Safety and Quality Control Programs, and
maintains a Corporate Health and Safety Plan. USA prepares
Site Health and Safety Plans for each of their work sites.
They have an impressive safety
record, with an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 0.70
for 2008. USA has performed 2,642,664 MEC-related
man-hours with zero OSHA-reportable accidents or incidents
involving explosives or dangerous material.
USA
employs more than 140 personnel, including all
of the UXO-related labor categories. These UXO personnel are
all graduates of the U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)
School, Indian Head, MD or have completed a certified
training course. USA’s Corporate Safety and Quality Manager
ensures that all of their field operations adhere to the
Corporate Health and Safety and Site Work Plans and
maintains their Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). USA’s
senior personnel include: Professional Engineers,
Geophysicists, Corporate Health & Safety Manager, Certified
Safety and Quality Professionals, Senior Professional in
Human Resources, Program & Project Manager, GPS Surveyors,
GIS and Quality Managers.

accounting, billing, purchasing and property tracking

MEC
Avoidance
USA performs MEC Avoidance for engineering, environmental,
construction, forestry and archeological firms performing a
variety of field operations, including geophysical data
collection, surveying, well drilling and monitoring, tree
planting and archaeological studies.
MEC Characterization, Remediation
and Disposal
USA determines or characterizes the extent of
MEC contamination on sites and offers alternative ways for
cleanup, including a preferred method. USA provides
intrusive MEC services including detection, excavation,
inspection, identification, and removal/disposal.
MEC Consultation
USA offers professional advice, technical
expertise and safety oversight for work areas that involve
MEC.
Range Maintenance
USA provides MEC services to maintain active
military firing and bombing ranges, including the periodic
removal of MEC and munitions debris near the impact zone and
the maintenance and replacement of targets.
